When should I seek help?
It’s important to seek help when you don’t feel like yourself, when your relationships are struggling, and/or when your emotions seem out of control and you are at the end of your rope.
Do I need a referral?
You can book an appointment without a physician’s referral. You can also book a virtual 15 minute meeting to access fit (no charge).
What can I expect during my first session?
The initial session is your opportunity to start sharing your story, discuss your goals, and identify what you’d like to change. It’s also a crucial time to determine if you and your Emotional Expert are a good fit.
What can I expect during my subsequent sessions?
Every session starts with a three to five minute breathing exercise because at Symmetry we emphasize the importance of feeling centred. Approximately 85% of the time spent in session focuses on having the participant talk by answering curious thoughtful questions from their Emotional Expert. The final portion is dedicated to a dialogue focused on emotional session.
What do I need to prepare for my session?
Many people use the hour before your session to reflect and identify the main issue they want to focus on during their session. Some even keep a journal to note important moments throughout the week that they can discuss. There’s no right or wrong approach to your sessions; the only measure of success is whether you find value in the process.
What program does Emotional Symmetry offer?
At Symmetry, we offer an Emotional Focused program. We put emotional experiences front and center. A tried and true methodology used in relationship building, targeting emotional experiences and emotional regulation.
How can this program help me?
Just like any relationship, it’s important that you feel a connection with your Emotional Expert. By the end of your first session, you may wonder whether to commit or try someone else. Whatever you decide, don’t give up – finding the right fit is essential.

By participating in Emotionally Focused program, the participant will learn problem solving skills, emotional regulation skills, and new coping strategies. Feedback from our participants shows that we help cultivate healthier relationships in all areas of life. Our methods can boost self-confidence and enhance self esteem by helping you understand your patterns while you learn to develop new ones.
Ultimately, the success of the program depends on your level of openness and commitment.
What should I look for in a Emotional Expert?
A good Emotional Expert will create space for you to share, with listening being a key skill in their practice. If your Emotional Expert struggles with this, it may be worth considering a different professional. This program differs from casual conversation with a friend; it should focus on your needs without an exchange of personal stories or advice.
What are your hours of operation?
To accommodate our participants’ busy schedules, we’ve developed a flexible schedule with evening and partial weekend availability.
Tuesday and Thursday 1pm to 8 pm
Wednesday and Friday 8am to 2pm
Saturday 9 am to 12 pm

All sessions are conducted online via teletherapy from the comfort of your own home.
How do I connect online with my Emotional Expert?
Your Emotional Wellness Expert will email a link to the portal. All you have to do is click on the link 2 minutes before your scheduled session. You will be placed in the virtual waiting room.
Who do you work with?
We provide emotional intelligence building to individuals, couples, and families.
How long is one session?
Individual session are 50 minutes
How often do we meet?
To begin, we recommend once every week or once every two weeks. Building momentum is an important starting block.
How much does one session cost?
Individual $150 (60 minute session)
Couples $225 (60 minute session)
Family $300 (60 minute session)

Do you prescribe medication?
No, I am not a doctor.
What theoretical approach do you use?
In addition to emotional intelligence building, our experts are provided trauma- informed training, mental health first aid training and deep listening training.
What are the signs that this program is working for me?
You feel better, you feel supported, and your relationships are improving.
Will this program fix me?
No because you are not broken. We encourage you to speak openly and vulnerably about yourself. Our goal is to provide a safe space where our clients are free of judgement.

Should I cancel my session if I feel I have nothing to talk about?
In our experience, some of the biggest breakthroughs are when our clients thought they didn’t have much to talk about.
What advice do you give to people who are considering your program?
Keeping things hidden deprives you of some of the most meaningful growth opportunities. This openness can be incredibly hard for some. However, there is no benefit to lying or bending the truth. One of the hallmarks of this program that makes this relationship different from any others in your life is that everything you share is confidential.
